Sky on court interview:
Petch - Andy congratulations, a perfect end to what's been a great week here in Cincinnati again for you.
Andy - Yeah it was good, I thought the standard towards the end of the 1st set was very good - a lot of long rallys. He started off a little bit slow, made quite a few mistakes early on but.. shame the way it ended but been perfect preparation for the US Open.
Petch - You said in your little interview there are still a couple of things you'd like to work on ahead of the US Open. What would those be?
Andy - Well I got broken quite a few times this week, I served better as the week went on but like yesterday against Mardy I was up a break 3 times in the 2nd set - I need to get better at closing out the sets; serving better - today I was up a break in the 1st set too and physically I need to do a bit of work. I was in the gym just now after we went inside ... and keep working hard before the start of the tournament.
Petch - Of course the last time you won here you had your best ever run in New York, do you sort of draw on things like that?
Andy - Yeah this court I think is very similar to the one in NY, the courts in Canada are different and it's good to know I'm playing well here - similar conditions and yeah, I hope I'm going to have a good run.
Petch - And what to the next couple for days look like for you, what are you going to do?
Andy - Erm, take tomorrow off - we're meant to be leaving tonight but the weather in NY is really, really bad just now so we might have to hang here a little bit, or maybe drive!
Petch - C'mon, from here?!
Andy - [smiling] its an 8 or 9 hour drive but if our flight gets cancelled tonight then we might take the car - have a little road trip!
Petch - Do you do the driving?
Andy - Last time I didn't but I don't mind driving. When we went up to Davis Cup a few weeks ago I drove up to Scotland in 5 hours, so... [bursts out laughing]
Petch - Yeah we wont let the police know about that anyway!! Well done, congratulations.
Andy - Thanks! [still laughing!]
Back in the studio Marcus mentions envelopes with speed camera tickets on the journey up to Scotland, not sure if he was joking!!
