It's what's holding him back at the moment. Part of his mind is doing a running commentry of how badly he's apparently playing and not fully focussed on the match. And against someone like Nadal that's just a bad idea.

It is interesting to watch this on Portuguese Eurosport with the commentators as they have no axe to grindabout Andy, but simply state what is obvious, sadly, that Andy does not have the mental strength to be as focused as Rafa is.

Too busy analizing his game instead of concentrating and focusing. Nite all can't bear this, he looks like a novice, all balls in the net. shocking standard, so many break points and did not take any and nadal needed one chance and boom. It's a mental thing, can't fight it.

Andy is talking to his team all the time and having a go at them. Andy let's get a proper coach. He is just beating himself up and it's as if he has talked himself into believing that he is not good enough to win this.
