WTA Thread
A bit of a topsey turvey Cincinatti final but Sharapova finally overcame jelena Jankovic 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 in 3 hours of dramatic if not always consistent tennis to take the title. Good to see Jelena in some form again but she could make the 7 games in a row she won from 1-4 down in the 1st count, whilst Maria wouldbneed a higher level to have a shot in New York. Serena has obviously been the form player on the hard courts, though she pulled out after winning her first match here. Pity of course Kim Clijsters is unable to defend her title.

Re: USO women's draw. I'm not even a teensy bit excited coz it's a foregone conclusion who's gonna win. No Kim C. So sad.

Perhaps someone ought to visit the forum Super8 runs it from, don't know if he knows where we are.

Re: WTA Thread
He's not posted on here but probably not found us. I've just gone looking for it and it's up on the Centre Court forum. He says he's away for the weekend and won't be back till midnight Sunday, so although I've just posted in the thread to say where we are, I guess it will probably be too late to get it posted here - people will have to visit http://www.cctennisworld.com/tennis-forum/21-fun-a-games/16782-re-wta-pick-em-botp-us-open-2011-deadline-4pm-mon-29-aug.html#16838 to get the form. I've just tested it and you can download the form without logging on. I'll start a thread for it.

She's a nice girl. My hubby prefers Caro.

Re: WTA Thread
Yes think Ana is endearing and though she was outplayed by Serena always had a smile. The one stat in her favour is that she actually hit more winnersa that Serena, particularly on the forehand side. A long match between Caroline and Svetlena but Wozniacki came back from a set down to dominate in the end.

Re: WTA Thread
Kuzy LOST that match as opposed to Caro winning it. She was a break up in the second. All she had to do was hold. She was cream crackered at the start of the third set and we all knew how it was going to end. Shame as I really like Kuzy.

Re: WTA Thread
Didn't actually see it live, but a pity Kutzy's nerve failed her but then she hasn't been in the best of form lately.

But isn't that how Caro always wins? By waiting for her opponent's errors?

Re: WTA Thread
Yup. I find her rather boring to watch. I'm going to enjoy watching Serena demolish her in the semi. Tee hee.

"Novak Djokovic is a friend of mine, but he’s avoiding me. You see, he performed a dance routine after a win earlier this week. His moves are pretty good, but I want to challenge him to a dance off—and suddenly I can’t find him. I’m sure he’s hiding from me because he knows I’m going to kick his butt for sure. The only thing that scares me a little is his 61-2 record, which is impressive, but I still say I will take him."
You show him, Petko!!!
