Point of no return for Andy now, seemed to go downhill a bit after he missed bp and poor service game here at 0-40! Just lacked stamina today. Nadal goes through, at leat Andy got something going but couldn't maintain the momentum.

Gutted - absolutely gutted - they are two warriors - Andy has a huge heart and it's just been broken again .... along with mine.
Rafa is just too good ....
Andy is so unlucky to land in such an era ... any other era he'd have won several slams by now
So so so disappointed for him.

Sucks! But Rafa just too good today/tonite. Hope he can beat Djoko.

Oh well, much better second part of the match, congratulations to Rafa, but Andy still has to sort his head out for the next season.
14 of the 16 GS QFs this year were won by the top 4. Only Ferrer against Rafa at AO and Tsonga against Fed at wimbledon beat them.
Andy is clearly the number four in the world but cannot progress without sorting his head out.
Please!

Not a good way to finish but he worked hard just can't find that extra bit when it really matters. 55 unforced errors. Will have to wait until 2012 to try again for his slam

Such a shame, he played such brilliant tennis and he did win that 3rd set which he should be very proud of.
Well done Andy still so proud of you.

Next... Australian Open. Be nice if Andy's seeded 3rd for it.
I just wish Andy would stop castigating himself over every mistake. Get into the groove. Play through your instincts. Murray's got so much talent. He truly is the greatest not to win a Slam - so far. I believe he will win at least one, one day, but it does seem such a long time to wait.
Come on, Andy Murray. Win or lose, we're still behind you.

Nearly stopped watching early in the second set. Was heartily sick of Andy's negative attitude. There's still a gulf between him and the top 3 but it lies in the space between his ears and not in his tennis. He's watched Nole and taken on board all the nutrition mumbo jumbo that Nole's adopted but seems unwilling to copy him where the sports psychology is concerned. Something he may live to regret. At least I won't be having a late night before work on Tuesday

He played unbelievable tennis in spots. Just needs to be more consistent. And at least he took a set off Rafa.

Agree but it was another case of playing himself as well as the oppo. Very sad for him.
BTW, have PM'd you.
