Gulp! USO Radio just said del Potro in Andy's quarter and that it is a "packed quarter".
Given Andy's early losses in the last two years, those round 16 and QF opponents are as important as later on, if he gets there, as I am not sure the top four are going to all be in the SF and I just hope Andy can have a run.
PS POssible 16 match Tsonga and Fish.

From what I could see on the seeds draw Deliciano may be the first seed he meets. Judy will be happy.
And Baggy is also in Andy's quarter.

Potential winner of Fish Tsonga gets Federer... that would be interesting.
I'll say it now... would be amazed to see Soderling ANdy especially as Soderling did not play the two Masters. Sure that Andy is more likely to get del Potro or, hopefully, somebody making a good run.

Andy's quarter is by far the most loaded but each quarter has some dangerous floaters around that could make things interesting.
Edit: Sophie- Berdych is in Djok's quarter

Well, when he wins it no-one can say he had it easy! To me Nadal has the easiest quarter.

Spot on - and actually I think it's a decent draw where he can just gradually step it up round by round.
Hope his first match is sometime after 5pm on Sunday as I'm out a lot that day!!!

Personally hoping his first match is Monday when I'm not in work. Could it be Sunday? That would be ok too. Second thoughts - better - Mr P playing golf Sunday and we've got the kids coming round Monday.

Pleased with the draw. Andy has a chance to get back at Stan for last year. Soderling and delpo aren't playing as well as they can. And I think it's better to be in Rafa's half at the mo than Nole's.
Watch out for Haase though.

Andy lost to Haase in R1 of the Rotterdam500 in 2009 ..... that was the year that none of the 8 seeds made it past R2.Maza1987 wrote:Pleased with the draw. I agree - I get very uncomfortable when the journos talk up Andy's chances - I'd much rather he came in under the radar. Although after Cinci I don't suppose there's much hope of that.

Looks like a pretty fair spread for all the top 4 IMHO. Fingers crossed. I still prefer Andy's chances against anyone over 5 sets than over 3, even though he hasn't made the most of that advantage in his 3 finals.

First Round only begins on Monday.
PS I am pretty sure Andy will not get much hype. From what I have read, most journalists were underwhelmed with Cinncinnati as a tournament (one journalist wondering why there still was a Master's there as it is clear that the oppressive conditions make it very hard to produce top-quality matches without them taking their toll on the players) and I must admit I never expected Andy would win a Master's event, which I saw as a pinnacle to climb, so easily (except perhaps Paris which normally has the unpredictability of "who is left standing at this stage of the year". Don't get me wrong. Andy played reasonably well and very well in periods, but did not have to play lights-out tennis for two or three close matches.
Most of the press seem to talk about the top three rather than top four, given Nole's form this year and Rafa and Roger's GS record, and I am quite pleased about that as frankly all being well he should go under the radar all the way to the SF, unless Rafa gets knocked out earlier on.
