Unfortunately Colin lost in the first round of singles qualifying yesterday. Here is what he said on Twitter:

Tough day at office. Good battle but came up just short in 3rd set. Great way to get used to conditions & looking forward to doubles.

Good luck to him in the doubles

    Wow - that's a brilliant result.
I've put the Winston Salem information in the thread in Jamie's sub-forum.

Great win for us today against a top team. There were bag pipes playing when we finished also, doesn't get any better! ☺

Colin & Scott are last up on Centre Court tonight (so that will be the middle of the night for us) against Huey & Parr

Huey is quite a good doubles player but I've not come across Parr before.

Anyhow, Good Luck Colin and Scott (the likely winners methinks).

Colin has had a great run from Nottingham onwards. Another great run in Winston-Salem with Scott Lipsky with some nice scalps along the way. Good that Rosco has got some practice in Flushing Meadows this week too. Got a good feeling for them this coming fortnight.

Sensible from Colin staying in Winston-Salem til Monday so to wait until it calms down in NYC.

Apart from being a great victory, that must be pretty good points earned as well!

Watched Colin and Ross from *2-3 in the 2nd set (half asleep I have to admit). What a brilliant result from the boys. Had a funny feeling they could do it. Granollers/Marc Lopez next I believe. Definitely winnable.

Colin played a pretty good game and it was a superb result! As Leon Smith said its good to know that in future Davis Cup matches that Colin could be called upon to play a singles if need be. The whole GB team fed of each other and James Ward played his wee socks off even when feeling pretty ill! He set the positive mood for the rest of the weekend. Colin and Ross are a great doubles team and played a great game too.
