    DAVIS CUP Sept 2011

    Post  LC the fan on Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:11 pm

    Felt a bit sorry for Jamie when I saw the team selection bug relieved for Andy.
    Playing all three matches is probably too much. Last time was special to play together in scotland but it does make more sense for Ross and Colin to do the dubs leg

    All packed and ready to go. Start the first 50 miles to the airport at 10am after dropping my dog at the kennels. Looking forward to a great weekend.

    A few tweets to keep everyone in the mood

    @stu_fraser Stuart Fraser
    A glorious mornin in Troon. Lookin forward 2 meetin Hungarians l8r. Always some interestin tales wen u meet GB's unknown DavisCup opposition

    Sitting courtside waiting for the draw ceremony. Probably the most anti-climactic "ceremony" you can ever attend. #daviscup

    Friday OOP. Starting at 3pm, Ward vs Balazs, followed by Murray vs Kiss #daviscup

    Doubles nominations. GB: Fleming & Hutchins. HUN: Balazs & Bardoczky. Subject to change of course. #daviscup

    Hungarian officials starstruck as they ask @andy_murray to pose for a photo. One for the living room wall perhaps? #daviscup

    Cue the Andy Murray/Glasgow Kiss headlines for Saturday's papers. #daviscup

    Just a quickie as it has taken me half an hour to sort out my voucher code for WiFi, wrong code issued! Linda and Sally both at Travelodge, Sally has been beavering away sorting out the tickets. We are meeting up at 7.15 to go and find some food. Linda and I have already been shopping and chilling out in Starbucks with Green tea!!
    Had a very senior journey up, thought I had left my phone in the car which was parked a long way from the terminal but after frantic searching found it at the bottom of my bag! Then left my Kindle in the tray at the security check, frantic rush back to retrieve it. Finally safely ensconced in the aircraft, arrived early in Glasgow. Things can only get better!!

    A few more tweets.

    @stu_fraser Stuart Fraser
    So tomorrow @andy_murray takes on Sebo Kiss, an unranked 27yo law student who is on a break from his studies to play. #bageloclock #daviscup

    @GBtennis OK, here's the deal on the missing Hungarians. Kellner - Sick. Fucsovics - Private problems. Lukacs - Schedule issues.

    @Mike_Dickson_DM Mike Dickson
    Left at Marks and Spencer, right at H. Samuel, straight at Thomas Cook and you're there - yes it's Davis Cup at the Brahead shopping centre.

    A change from New York. Ok it's not Fifth Avenue but the people are more polite. GB v Hungary tomorrow. Murray plays someone called Kiss.

    @NeilHarmanTimes Neil Harman
    Just watching Hungarians warm up in Glasgow. I have to admit I've never set eyes on a single one of them before. One has stunning hair

    Just left Martin Corrie, Davis Cup chairman, trying to get his tongue round Hungarian players' names. Should be an interesting introduction

    Team GB talk to the likes of me http://twitpic.com/6l77hq

    The Hair is 2nd left. It is Limahl! http://twitpic.com/6l7d6q

    @andy_murray tries to put @colin_fleming off his interview stride http://twitpic.com/6l7pbd

    So the action starts today unfortunately we have to wait until 3pm but can always go shopping!!! Might go in and watch the guys practising if I get my tickets in time. Back later enjoy the singles I am sure it will be rewarding.
    Some of these unranked players can be difficult to play, unpredictable but I am sure the guys will cope.

    Can't take anything for granted even if we are the clear favourites this weekend! Kiss may be more effective than Bram!

    Does that mean that the LTA livestream is only available in the UK? It's on Eurosport too so you may find a livestream later.

    Here I am to wish GB the best of Davis Cup luck, and here's hoping Australia can somehow take out Switzerland.

    Go Andy Murray! If I see any less than a triple bagel tomorrow morning, I shall deem it a Murraycoaster. Very Happy

    One up to Australia with Tomic over Wawrinka - well done! Wouldn't it be just great if he managed to take out His Smugness as well?
